The church of Alfonso II. It is work by the maestro Tioda in the Romanesque style, built during the reign of Alfonso II. It is next to the tower of the cathedral and formed part of the primitive Palencia ecclesiastical complex built by Alfonso II. Of the primitive church, only a window in the sanctuary remains, it has three arches above marble.

De su antigua fábrica prerrománica únicamente conserva la parte superior del muro testero, de sillarejo, con medallones en los extremos de su alero y cubierta a dos aguas.

Introducción Una de las pocas edificaciones que realizó Alfonso II en Oviedo para prestigiar la ciudad capital de su reino, que se conserva en parte, es la iglesia de San Tirso. Fue un templo situado al sur de la catedral del que tan sólo nos ha llegado en pie el testero recto del ábide central.
